Learners experiencing disadvantage
Palladian are commited to a relentless focus on our Learners Experiencing Disadvantage (LED) for all colleagues: shifting the Trust-wide discourse, conducting targeted audits to remove barriers to learning, and fostering adaptive teaching practices across our schools to continue narrowing the attainment gap.
Our approach for learners experiencing disadvantage is based on Quality First Teaching and the understanding that support and scaffolds form part of this as they are 'crucial for some, harmful to none.'
We are proud to be part of the BANES Disadvantage Task Group (2026) with representatives from other local schools and Trusts who have collectively made a commitment to close the attainment gap and support learners experiencing disadvantage. The group is launching a series of initiatives focused on the transition from primary to secondary school as we know that for many learners experiencing disadvantage, the move to Year 7 can be a period of significant anxiety.
We are also proud to work with Wiltshire Learning Alliance (WLA) and all schools engaging with the WLA Disadvantaged Charter.
