Palladian Academy Trust (PAT) have said a fond farewell to their founding CEO at the end of this school year. Tim Withers came to Bath in 2013 as Headteacher of Ralph Allen School and in 2016 was instrumental in bringing together Ralph Allen and seven primary schools in the city to form the only Bath-centred multi academy trust. Since then, PAT has gone from strength to strength, welcoming schools from Wiltshire into its family, and Tim leaves an organisation that is confidently looking to its next phase of development.

Tim’s contribution to PAT has been immeasurable. Taking the bold decision to move with the shifting education landscape and set up a MAT has meant that PAT’s 10 schools work together collaboratively to ensure the best impact on pupil outcomes for more than 3000 pupils. Tim’s continual commitment to a values-driven organisation that meet the needs of the learners whilst ensuring staff wellbeing is protected has been at the forefront of education thinking and the Trustees will miss his warmth, wisdom and good humour.

Tim has worked in the South West since 1984, moving down after completing a PGCE in Sheffield. His educational journey has taken him from Clevedon to Bursa, Madrid, Yate, Mitcheldean, Frome, Shirehampton, Ham Green, Stroud, and then to Bath and Wiltshire. Tim’s intention is continue making a contribution to children and young people through consultancy, coaching and voluntary work, allowing a bit of time for other adventures!

Palladian Academy Trust warmly wish Tim all best wishes for his next adventures.
