New Age Kurling

Just before Easter,  Year 5 and 6 pupils from St Martin’s Garden Primary School were invited by St Philips C of E Primary School to join them for an after school ‘friendly’ game of New Age Kurling. This sport is a form of the original curling game, but adapted so that it can be played indoors on any smooth, flat surface, such as a sports hall.   A very accessible sport for children of infant and junior school age, Kurling engaged the children across a series of fun mini- matches, where they enjoyed working on their aim and accuracy to get their ‘stones’ on to the house (the mat), or even the ‘button’ (centre of target).
